C & A Building Products, established in 1968 by Charles and Audrey, began by introducing plastics into the construction industry. With a background in carpentry, they initially focused on canopies and carports. Over the years, the company expanded to become one of the largest independent distributors of PVC corrugated and polycarbonate multi-wall sheeting in the UK. Today, they continue to innovate and improve their product offerings, maintaining strong industry connections and delivering exceptional customer service through a family-run business ethos.

The epic
C & A Building Products wanted a complete digital overhaul to strengthen its position as a leading supplier in Southeast England. Frustrated with their previous eCommerce platform, they turned to Rixxo.
Using our Foundations™ process, we identified several key objectives: build a new B2B eCommerce website in Magento to best practice standards, integrate key data flows into Orderwise, enhance the store with third-party marketing tools and provide a fresh, brand-aligned look.
Our approach
Rixxo upgraded C&A Building Products’ eCommerce platform to Magento 2, with automation and integration with Orderwise for real-time data synchronisation. We planned a detailed launch strategy and trained the C&A team for a smooth transition.
The design team refreshed the website with a modern color palette and improved user experience for configurable products. Using the Amasty Advanced Shipping Rules module, we implemented a cost-effective, rule-based delivery system.
Additionally, we included 2 powerful Aheadworks modules to supercharge the platform:
B2B Company Accounts for Magento 2: Simplified corporate account management by enabling customers to create and manage company accounts directly from the storefront.
B2B Company Credit for Magento 2: Boosted customer loyalty and business growth by offering trusted clients a flexible credit system.
