Riding the B2B, Bristol to Bordeaux 500 miles for Props Charity

Bristol to Bordeaux Chris

I’m not just a keen cyclist; I genuinely love my job as MD of Rixxo, and UK Chapter Lead for the B2B eCommerce Association. It gives me opportunities to learn, grow, and help others. I find purpose in my work because I love what I do and it very rarely feels like work, even when it’s tough.

This year, I’m taking on a huge challenge that marries my passion for cycling, working and learning with a very worthy cause. But I will say, this isn’t a story about a personal connection to disability or a direct experience that’s touched me or my family. I am fortunate enough to be able-bodied and free from many challenges that others face daily. This is a story about solidarity, awareness, and proactive support for those whose struggles are often unseen and unheard. About an opportunity for somebody who can give back, whilst doing something they love because the people I am supporting have crafted something perfect for me.

Why I Chose Props

Choosing to support Props was an intuitive decision. This organisation champions the idea that everyone deserves to engage in meaningful and rewarding work, regardless of disabilities.

Their commitment to creating real-world opportunities for young people and adults with learning disabilities resonates deeply with my belief in equitable chances for all.

It’s about supporting a vision that benefits everyone—enhancing my ride with a deeper purpose.

The Perfect Alignment: The B2B Ride

The Bristol to Bordeaux cycle challenge, affectionately known as the B2B, not only tests physical endurance but also symbolises the bridge between different communities—connecting Bristol, my work in B2B eCommerce, and the broader cause of Props charitable spirit. When I heard about this event, the cosmic coincidence seemed too significant to pass up. It’s a physical journey and a metaphor for the connections we build in life and work, embodying the spirit of mutual support and communal growth.

Inspiration from the Community: The Story of Matt

Hearing about Matt, a fellow enthusiast who has tackled the B2B ten times, really struck a chord with me. His consistent participation has turned into something much bigger than just cycling; it’s become a powerful means of support for Props. Seeing how his commitment has become a catalyst for change makes me even more motivated to contribute. If Matt could make such a significant impact through his rides, I’m excited to see what we can do together with your support.

As I prepare for this significant undertaking, your involvement can magnify our collective impact. The journey from Bristol to Bordeaux is a call to all who believe in making a difference through actionable support.
